Family fun day

We went to Eckert's Milstadt Family Farm today for some family fun and apple picking. I have been promising Donovan I would take him apple picking since he learned about orchards in one of his favorite books. Unfortunately, he has been feeling a little under the weather the past few days with a fever at night and general tiredness. All things considered though we still had a great time, he just wasn't as crazy man as he normally is. Reese was a great girl, had a fabulous time looking around, strapped to her daddy's chest. The highlight of the day was watching the big pumpkin cannon shoot pumpkins out super high in the sky. It was our first time going to Eckert's but I think it is going to need to be a yearly tradition. In fact, when I was putting Donovan to bed tonight he said "Go pick apples again". We'll call that a success.

Flying the airplane. He took this so seriously, barely cracked a smile after the ride started. Had a death grip on the steering wheel and would not look away from the plane in front of him for the longest time. I think he thought he was really flying that thing.

Bouncing. For a minute. Then the kids got to close to him and he wanted down. That's how I know he wasn't feeling like his usual self.
Brave boy did go down an underground slide with Grammie Q though.
Feeding the sheep with Grammie and Auntie Jenna.
Kinda far away but this is the one shot we got of Reese, which is a shame cus she was so cute. That's her strapped on Tommy with our friends Kris, Lynn and their little girl Penelope.
Reaching to get those apples. "I picked a big one!"
Another way I know he wasn't feeling well... he refused to leave his blanket in the car. Carried it around like Linus. Literally. Drug it in the dirt. Here is that blankie draped over saint Grammie's arm.
Penelope showing that branch who's boss. "I'll get that apple......"
Unfortunately no pics of the pumpkin cannon. Turns out even having 5 adults to 2 children, sometimes you just don't have enough hands.
